The situation for Barcelona wasn't great, as they lost THREE home games in a row; the first was a 2-3 loss to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League Quarter-finals, the second was a 0-1 loss to CF Cadiz in La Liga, the third was this. This meant two things; the first thing was that Real Madrid will clinch the title if they take at least one point against RCD Espanyol, which they did a week after this game, the second was that Rayo Vallecano were unbeaten against sides from Barcelona (RCD Espanyol and FC Barcelona) this season (Rayo defeated these teams 1-0 both home and away).

  34. We clearly are in need of a defense Shake up. Please FC Barcelona DON'T Sign Christiensen. Get that loan or sponsorship money and get Pau Torres. Sign Pogba Taglifico and Valencia's attacking midfielder loan Gavi the opposite way. Don't extend Dembele's contract , sign Gnabry or Raphinha , then sign Dybala as competition. We will be okay until next summer.
    Doing this will allow us to have enough depth and experience to compete for the Champions League Trophy. With those two additions to that midfield department you'll notice how Barcelona will be killing games at will. Frankie and Pedri will be the best midfielders because of this added depth that will be a factor in our clubs development.

  36. Even though I've been in awe of Barca's football the last decade, I'm kind of enjoying this decline.
    When I flew over to Barcelona for a weekend to view the Sagrada Familia and watch a game at the Camp Nou six or seven years ago, I was struck with how badly the Barca fans just took that team for granted. Alves was sending pitch perfect crosses all over the field. Every first touch from Neymar was insane. Messi's close ball control was unlike anything I've ever seen before. Meanwhile the atmosphere sucked. Plenty Catalans were more focused on stuffing down sausages and other garbage food they bought in the stadium down their throat instead of soaking up the greatness that was unfolding in front of them. The Barca ultras were a joke, just a bunch of kids with drums that made little to no noise. The majority of people never got out of their seat when another georgeous attack was put together. Fans leaving ten minutes before the end of the game to not have to deal with traffic. It was a joke to me and the pal I was with. Those same supporters now have to do deal with 0-1 losses against Vallecano. I hope it teaches them some humility and appreciation for amazing times.

  43. Ni proyecto ni leches. Este Barça no debe jugar la champions por que lo eliminarán a la primera después de perder todos los partidos. Este Barça no se merece estar peleando por la champions. Más bien parece un equipo que esté en la zona de descenso a segunda. De que sirve ganar los tres puntos al madrid y después perder seis contra los colistas ? Menudo futuro para la temporada que viene.
